Behind every licence on Actorsy sits one system. It captures what each person has consented to, issues a licence only within those limits, and keeps a verifiable record of every use. Consent in, licence out, and nothing in between that isn't accounted for. This page explains how the pieces fit together.
The consent record
Every talent profile carries an explicit, granular consent record: which categories of use are permitted (film and TV, advertising, gaming, D2C, political, adult), which are not, and which require per-project approval. These are not buried in a terms-of-service checkbox. They are individual toggles the person sets themselves and can change at any time, and the system enforces them on every licence. If a category is off, no buyer can license it. Full stop.
Identity before anything
A consent record only means something if it belongs to a real person. Before a likeness can be licensed, the person behind it completes identity verification, confirming they are who they claim to be and of age. The verified identity is bound to the profile, so every licence traces back to a checked human being, not an uploaded photo of unknown origin.
Licence issuance
When a studio or platform licenses a likeness, the system checks the request against the consent record and issues a licence recording the scope, territory, term and channels of use, together with the price paid. The licence is a contract, generated and stored automatically. It is the legal proof of permission, and both sides keep a copy.
Verification and withdrawal
Every licence can be verified by reference, including by downstream platforms, insurers and regulators. And consent is not a one-way door: talent can withdraw from future licensing at any time. Existing licences run their agreed term, but the moment consent is withdrawn, the person leaves the pool and no new licence can be issued.
